Mickey Maudlin

Mickey Maudlin

Associate Publisher

Also known as Michael, Mickey meets all the requirements for being a book nerd, spending four decades working in publishing, specializing in works at the cutting edge of where religion meets the world. To relax, you guessed it, he reads books, mostly novels.

Beginning as an editor at IVP, he learned the art of publishing for thought leaders by working with authors such as John Stott, Eugene Peterson, and J. I. Packer. Moving on to Christianity Today magazine, he became Managing Editor and then Editorial Vice President, working closely with Charles Colson, Philip Yancey, Timothy George, and many other global leaders. For the next twenty years, he served as Senior Vice President and Editorial Director at HarperOne, the general religious and prescriptive imprint of HarperCollins, working directly with bestselling authors such as N. T. Wright, Barbara Brown Taylor, James Martin SJ, Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, Rob Bell, Marianne Williamson, Desmond Tutu, Frederick Buechner, Tony Campolo, Shane Claiborne, Peter Enns, Lauren Winner, Bart Ehrman, Phillip Gulley, as well as overseeing work with the C. S. Lewis Estate (who happens to be his favorite author). He also oversaw production of THE SBL STUDY BIBLE, THE C. S. LEWIS BIBLE, and THE STUDY QURAN.

He is a graduate of Miami University (Ohio) with a M.A. in Bible and Theology from Wheaton College. He and his wife live in Wheaton, Illinois, and are the parents of two adult daughters—all of them are constantly reading.
